Cogmotiv is developing a targeted pharmacological therapy for apathy in dementia, a highly prevalent and disabling condition with no approved treatments. Apathy is a major driver of functional decline, caregiver burden and healthcare costs, yet remains untreated mainly due to the lack of safe and effective therapies. Cogmotiv’s lead program is a first-in-class, non-stimulant, highly selective dopamine transporter inhibitor with a novel binding mode, enabling stable dopaminergic modulation without norepinephrine or serotonin activity, minimizing safety risks in elderly populations. The company aims to advance the program through clinical readiness and early clinical development before partnering for late-stage development and commercialization.
