Inflammatory diseases of the airways, such as COPD, bronchiectasis or asthma, affect hundreds of millions of patients worldwide. Current treatment options are limited, and for many patients their disease cannot be adequately controlled. While progress has recently been made by others, the need for broadly effective and safe drugs remains high.
AATec develops therapeutics for lung diseases using a novel precision approach. Our products are based on a new version of AAT, a human protein, and have unique multimodal effects. They broadly inhibit key mediators of inflammation and infections in the airways and are delivered by inhalation. AATec’s products overcome the limitations of current treatments due to multimodal effects, providing broad activity against several key drivers of inflammation. Their delivery by inhalation provides high deposition in the lungs for optimal effect.
We develop our products as a platform for several lung diseases. The lead development candidate ATL-105 will be developed in non-CF bronchiectasis, a debilitating chronic lung disease with high medical need.
